The Palmier Greenhouse is the hero of the new rattan collection. Taken from the french word for "palm", the design of this piece was influenced by an exotic classical style, layering texture with plant life. The Palmier Greenhouse utilises the concept of the Wardian case or terrarium, but on a larger scale. It helps to create a temperate environment which assists plants to thrive throughout each season and encourages growth and shelter from changing weather conditions, whilst trapping hydration and moisture. This piece is handcrafted from rattan which is sourced from sustainable forests in Indonesia. Rattan is a creeping plant or vine, which belongs to the Palm family. It grows upwards and around trees in dense forests. After harvesting, the rattan is then washed, cured & dried before being handcrafted. This greenhouse is 90% handmade by local craftsmen & women who have traditionally used & worked with this natural material for generations. With a lift-up door on one side, it can be easily accessed for removal of plants and pots.
The Palmer Greenhouse is ex-display and has never been used, it does not come in a box.
